ボードウォークを歩く人々がこのモニュメントを見て、また、ボードウォーク上に落ちるモニュメントの影の中で、犠牲者を感じ、過去に何が起きたのか想像してほしいのです。
ボードウォークやモニュメントの中で祈るとともに、その先に見える空や海に平和で穏やかな未来を願ってほしいと思います。

Composed with random mass of concrete, the monument represents countless number of victims. Some emerging to higher atmosphere, some submerging into the ground as their souls are free from imprisonment.
Outline of the monument is visible from the boardwalk to draw visitors to honor victims. Within and around the monument, we can ponder and feel the presence of victims and the stillness of the deep ground they rest.
Through harmony of mass, void, ground, ocean and sky beyond, it will lead us to the prayer for victims and the peaceful future ahead.
